National Technical University of Athens

NTUA claims an exceptionally central and pivotal role to facilitate and promote Industrial Biotechnology through IBISBA.GR, given its long and well-established links with the industrial and technological fabric of the country, that is further pronounced by its institutionalized Technology Transfer Office, and its recent cooperation agreements with the Hellenic Industrial Property Organization (OBI), and the Federation of Enterprises (SEV). NTUA further leads the National Technological Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (Suschem GR) representing the large majority (almost 80%) of the industrial associations of the country. NTUA coordinates the national node for IBISBA.EU for the holistic use of feedstocks and the valorisation of by-products from agriculture and forestry as well as the aquatic sector. The EU RI combines broad expertise and dedicated laboratories with pilot facilities to promote best practices in agricultural engineering, thermochemical and biochemical biomass pathways, process systems engineering technologies, supply chain analysis and LCA.
